Watercolours
There is nothing quite like a watercolour, is there? They are ideal for rendering light and even if one applies the paint heavily they often have a wonderful luminosity about them (when done well!). Even though they are most often much smaller that those produced on canvas, they attract the eye and make you want to cross the room and have a closer look.
